Colours and Shades.
There are no striking novelties io colour this season. The golden brown shades of the summer are repeated with the addition of a bright gold colour, which will probably replace the suede tints so popular during the past. Florentine green in olivine tones and brighter' verdure green are prominent colours for autumn and winter, and are repeated in felt hats, ribbons and trimmings. There are many cardinal felt hats shown, and the absence of cardinal colours among the milliners would point to the fact that they will be trimmed generally with h';ick. The terra cotta shades this season pn ake of a crimson tone, and include .1 iin^h* ebruscan red and sienna, the reddish i.rown of the artist's colour box. Electric bh.idea of blue, verd de gris, a greenish -grey, <tiid two silvery shades of grey, compose th« range of colours imported for millinery. Two-toned effects and shades shown in ribtoons indicate that shaded effects will no* be abandoned, and that bonnets with trimmings in a lighter shade of the sauw col<mr without contrast may be popular.
