UNHAPPY IRELAND.
Lonidok, November 23. The Government have decided io prosecute Messrs O'Connor (member for Tipoerary South) J Finucane (Limerick South), David Sheehy (Gal way South), Thomas Mayne (Tipperary Mid), Thomas Condon (Ttppcrary East), P. J. OBrien (Tipper aiy North), and Dr. Tanner (Coik Mid) on the charge of intimidating occupiers of evicted fai ras. A tanner at Kerry has been nuirdeied. The police are inquiring into the ma'.ter. As vet no airest has been made. Mr Hairington declines to pay the sum of ,£5OO which he was fined, for contempt, by the " Times " - Pavneil Commission.
London, November 21. The proceedings of the League in Kerry formed the subject of evidence before fche " Time? " - Parnoll Commission to-day. The son ot Cnrtin, who was boycotted and eventually murdered, admitted he was a member of the League, but did not believe the Leaguo had any connection with the murder of his father. Norah Fitzmaurice, whose father also fell a victim to agrarian outrage, was one of the witnesses examined. Leonard, agent for Lord Kenmare, &a\e testimony as- to the punishment of tenants for paying rent and "land-grabbing.'' These outrages began at Killavney, after speeches b}- Parnell and O'Donoijhue. After violent speeches b}- 0' Biicn. Healy, and E. Harrington, outrages mci eased in number and violence. Counsel Reid ha-? appealed to Sir James Hannen to confine the evidence now being taken at the " Times '*• Parnell enquiry to moie reasonable limits, lie pointed out that such widespread testimony could serve no good purpose, but only tend to ruin even body whose name was drausred into it. With teferenee to the shooting ot Lord Mountmorris, the chief point elicited in the cross examination of Lady Mountmorris showed that hei husband's murder was due to a different cause than the tenants' vengeance. The President of the Couit expressed 13 hope that the " Times " party would see its way to curtail the evidence in the diiection indicated.
