THE MAORI BURGLAR. Christchurch, NOV. 16.
Mil J3OWJSYES, a tailor at St. Albans, the northern suburb of Christchurch, saw a man resembling the escaped Maori prisoner Murray pass his shop at 6 a.m, to-day. He communicated with wtte polico two hours Jatcr, and the St. Albans and Papanuicunstablos have been on the look-out for the fugitive all day, without success. This afternoon tho Mayor of Lyttolfcon received a reply to the telegram .sent last night asking that assistance should be given to tho police Lo capture Mm ray. It wusto tho effect that instructions would be given to (he Perm an on t Artillery and warders to assi-t the police, and was signed by Colonel Hume.
