THE DAIRY INDUSTRY. A HOME BUYER'S OPINION.
Mr Grant, the representatiye of Messrs Boyd and Grant, Produce Importers of Liverpool, who was in Auckland a few week's ngo, has since visited the dairying districts of the Island, arranging for the regular purchase of dairy produce. In an interview with the Minister of Lands, Mr Grant expres9od the opinion that the dairy farmers of New Zealand arc not yet able to make the best of the splendid possibilities at their disposal ; the condition of the Colony as regards its dairy produce developement being now akin to what that of Canada was some twenty years ago. The Canadian system is now recognised as one of the most perfect in the world, but that was only attained by the assistance of State aid in the matter of technical education on the subject. It is Mr Grant's intention to appoint an agency in the Colony, for the export trade with his firm, but it is not settled yet where the head quarters of the agency will be situated.
