Ireland, protection for three months to work Earl of Aberdeen, Riverdale, and Riverdale No. 2, Tui, with two men. Granted. J. M. Chambers, application for right to construct a tramway at Tui Creek. Mr E. Cameron lodged an objection to this being granted in the form asked for, as it would interfere with the working of Ins ground. The tramway was granted as far as the May Bell drive, the upper portion being meantime refused. J. H, Keep, application for protection for the Champion Lode No, 4, and Tui Reduction Co's claims. Mr J. M. Chambers appeared for the applicant, and in answer to the Warden, said protection was wanted for three months, as they were awaiting the result of the furnace at Karangahake before starting work here. The furnace was smelting satisfactorily now, and at the end of a fortnight they would know the result, The Warden said he would give protection for one month, and they would know by that time whether the Parkes process was a success or not. j John Abbott, absolute protection for New Era Special Claim, Waiorongomai, for three months ; also protection for machine site and water race. (Mr Margetts junr. appeared for the applicant). The Warden stated he understood Mr John Abbott hud advanced £800 on this property for twelve months, and had recently been offered £2000 to relinquish his claim. Pie also understood the English people (with whom Mr Ferguson had been negotiating at Home) would have nothing to do with it whilst Mr Abbott had a claim over it. If it was clearly proved to him on next Court day that Mr Abbott had been paid off, and had relinquished all claim on the property, he would be prepared to consider the application for three months protection ; otherwise Mr Abbott would have to man the ground, or else the claim would be forfeited. Meantime he would grant protection for fourteen days until next Court day. H. Brett, application for protection for Monte Christo Licensed Holding, Tui, for four months, to woik with two men. The recent wet weather has greatly retarded shearing, and consequently most of the sheep owners in this district have missed the first wool shipment, and will now have to wait until January. We understand that there will be a large amount of frozen mutton sent Home this ■summer. The Waikato Land Association, and the Matamata Land Association each intend sending 3000 sheep,, and there will no doubt be a number of fanners who will also send some smaller lots*
