MINING NEWS.
The erection ef the new plant in connection with the Te Aroha S, and G. M. Co. at Waiorongomai, is progressing most satisfactorily. Great progress has been made during the past fortnight. The reverbeiatory furnace is ready for work, nnd the bricklayers are now putting the finishing touches to the revolving furnace, and by next week everything will be ready to make a start with the erection of the revolving cylinder. The large new building, (about 100 feet square), containing these furnaces is all boarded in, and a large portion of the roof already on. In the old battery mill 20 head of stampers have already been raised 4 feet so as to allow room for the concentrators, the bed and concrete floor for nine of these concentrators has already been laid, and the shafting etc. for both rows been placed in position. A start has been, made to erect the 80 feet stack for the smelter, and it is now up a distance of about 12 feet. Cookson and party, contractors for constructing No. 4= section of the waterrace, and Montague and party, contractors for No. 2 section, are both making fair progress with the work in hand, and should have it completed this month. '
