The body was found by Mr John McConnell, of (JonquesfcPlacc, while strolling along; the beach in company with a neighbour, Mr Campbell. The attention of these gen tiemen was attracted by an ordinary canvas bag- tied at the mouth with a piece of blue and white twine. Mr McConnell's curiosity wasaroused, and he proceeded toinvestigate the contents, which proved to be the body of an infant child. Information was at once given to Constable Hob&on, and he took charge of the body. The child was wrapped in two large calico gowns, over which was a white flannel petticoat, and the whole was enclosed in a ilax kib and bag.
