SUICIDE BY HANGING. Dunedin, October 28.

On Saturday afternoon, William McLachlan, a resident at St. John's Wood, Northeast A'alley, committed suicide by hanging himself while his wife was absent. He appears to have thrown a rope over the parlour door, and making a noo&e on the other side, hanged himself. He was in very well-to-do circumstances, owning a good deal of property at Port Chalmers, but he had buflered some losses, and thete ha\e worried him greatly. He leases a wife and three childien.
