MINING NEWS.
Some really good stone has been brought down from some of tho Tui mines during the week. In one oi 1 two of the claims now being prospected large new leefs have been discovered, which are now being stripped. Some splendid galena oie is being obtained in the Tili Reduction Co.'s ground. At Waiorongomai the vaiioils works in connection with the new plant for the Te Aroha S» and Gr. M. Co. ate being pushed ahead very fa&t. No less than twelve carpenters being engaged in erecting the new building, and it is expected sill the frame work and also tho roof will be up next week, and a start made to cover it in. All the masons are now engaged in completing the brick work for the reverberating furnace and revolving roaster, and expect to get this work finished by to-night, A start will then be made to erect the brick chimney stack (80ft) and condensing chambers for the smelter. A numbei of hands are also engaged in levelling etc., the site for the mixing floor, There is nothing fresh to report from the mines. The work of raising (4ft) the 40 stampers in the old battery is progressing, and half the number are already in position again.
