Sydney, Sept. 32. The labourers who went bo work ai the Greta Colliery have met with violent treatment at che hands of a number ot » he men on strike. The latter assembled and hooted and mobbed the labourers as they were proceeding to work. Stones were freely used by the strikers, and one labourer hatbeen seriously injured.
Auokjand, September 12. Cahll advices received by Messrs Ston c Bros, bhie morning from good authority are to the effect that the coal miners' strik atNewcasbleisnow expected to last for three months longer. The same firm received advices that the schooner Silver Cloud was to leave Newcastle for Auckland today, and inquiries for a quotation for 200 tons Auckland coal to be supplied tea steamer about the end of September. The latter can be supplied, and a price has been given as requested.
By the coal miners*' ati-ike Newcastle loses £15,000 in wages weekly. Lord Carrington says lie will uol leave New South Wales until his term as Governor expires.
