THE DUNPiDIN WATERLOOEASY VICTORY FOR SAILOR BOY. Dunedin, August 27.

At the Waterloo Meeting on Saturday there was a good deal of excitement as Sylvia (with the odds oi 12 to 1 on) and Bridegroom met in the fourth round Of the Cup. The former led and turned, and then let in Bridegroom, who did some good work. Sylvia in making drive at the game fell, and Bridegroom again got in and wrenched two or thi'ee times, ending with a kill. Nearly everyonethought Bridegroom had won, but the red flag went up in favour of the Auckland representative. There was a great deal of dissatisfaction at the ruling. Sailor Boy started a strong favourite at 2 to 1 in his course with Flora Second, and led up to the hare by a couple of lengths from Flora Second, and running strongly and working his game in fine style he quickly ran up the score and won by a few points. For the final, Sailor Boy was backed at 2to 1. He led up to the hare from Sylvia by five lengths, and turned twice in succession. Sylvia then got in, and made her only score with a kill, Sailor Boy thus winning the course and stake. His running all through was greatly admired. There was not much excitement over the final, as Sailor Boy's victory was Almost a foregone conclusion.
