A LAiuiii number of applications for prospecting licenses in Mokohinui, Js'gU kawa, and Waimargaioa coal districts were considered by the Land Board 10-day. The Commissioner expressed the opinion that many of them uoic merely speculative with a view to extorting money from companies formed or forming. He postponed some and granted others tor six months, only renewable on, condition thatprospecting is actively carried out.
