OUR MINING EXHIBITS AT MELBOURNE.

In connection with the efforts being made to obtain due representation ot the Thames field district at the Melbourne Exhibi tion, Mr Geoige Wilson, Mining Inspector of the Hauraki dibtrict, has arrived in town. He has been [directed by the Governments to afford any assistance in his power to make the mining exhibits at Melbourne one befitting the colony, and has come to Auckland to consult with the directors of oompanie-* and co-operate with them in any aotion they may take. Yesi erday Mr Adam Porter and Mr Wilson were busy making: arrangements for obtaining quartz from different district?. The following is a list of mines from which exhibits are to be pent to the Melbourne Exhibition. Thames District. — New Prince Imperial, Saxon, Cambria, Moanafcaiari, New Alburnia, Old Caledonia, Waiotahi, New Manukau, Kuranui, Sylvia, Lone Hand, City of Manchester, City of Adelaide, Hidden Treasure mine, Puriri and 14oldwater, Wha.n?amata. Ohihemuiu District. — Marotobo, Silver Queen, Imperial, Crown, Ivanhoe, Woodstock, Koni,!wpvt>h, WaiM Co., and Martha Extended. Te Aboha District — Champion Lode, Tui Reduction Co., Ruakaka, Te Aroha Co., and Colonist. The Corotnandel dis- ! tr*ict will also be well represented. To-day Mr Wilson and Mr Porter leave for the Thames, where they will spend about a fortnight in collecting the quartz, which will amount to about 10 tons.
