SALE OF THE CHAMPION LODE G. & S. M. CO.'S PROPERTY, TUI, TE AROHA.
As reported in our issue of Wednesday a cablegram was received on Monday last, containing an offer for this very valuable property, and we further stated a meeting of the shareholders convened for Tuesday last, for the purpose of considering the offer, had been postponed till Wednesday. The meeting on Wednesday was held at Mr J. Friar Clarks's office, the Exchange, Auckland, when it was resolved to accept the offer made by the English capitalists for the purchase of the mine ; £12,000 of which is cash, and £15,000 as working capital, £12,000 of which has already been subscribed, and will be payable in a short time. The local shareholders, under this agreement, are to have their £1 shares fully paid up. At the meeting referred to Messrs A. Porter, J Chambers, Firth, Keep, and Bell were appointed a committee to make the necessary rreliininary arrangements for developing the | property, and were requested to have a report on the mine made by Mr D. H. Bayldon, Surveyor, of Thames. Mr D. G. MacDonnell was appointed secretary to the new company.
