MINING NEWS.

COROMANDEL, Juiy2o. ANOTHER ALINING PROPERTY SOLD. A cablegram was received in Coromandel, yesteiday, stating that a large area of grouud at the Tiki, including Vizard's and Vaughan's leases, had been taken over by a Melbourne syndicate subject to the approval of a mining expert now on his way to Coromandel. Tokatea. — Since my last report, Carlsen and party haveobtained 141bs. of good specimen stone, which make on hand 46lbs. and about one ton of general quartz. Their leader still looks well, and keeps separate from the No. 3 reef, a distance of about 6ft. The No. 3 reef has not been touched here yer, further than breaking into the footwall portion a bout one foot, showing a splendid class ot stone, but I cannot tell the full width of this reef here, as the tributers will only work on the small branches. I again feel it my duty to call your attention to the great necessit/ of preparing to work this and the other large ludes in your mine, for I know they are worthy of it. Steele and Dyer's crushing of one ton and lOlbs. of picked stone yielded 37ozs. 7dwts. melted gold, at 58s sd, £109 4s 9d ; less 20 per cent, to the Company, £21 Is lid; balance, £87 7s lOd. I have-not received the melted return of gold from Halpin's last ctu&hing. They are now engaged treating the ton of No. 2 stone. Roberts and party, on No. 17 tribute block, have on hand about two tons of general quartz and 401bs. of picked stone. All the other tributers are in full work.— John Bknnisy.
