ENTERTAINMENT.
The Benefit Performance by the Mount Aroho. Troubadours in aid of Mi ElTailhVlil, took place at Waiorongomai on last Friday evening ; and although Iho weather was rather unsettled there was n bumper l-on^e, the Public Hall being filled to (ho doors. The following programme was gone, tluough without a hitch, and in a manner most creditable to the several performers. Mrs Menzies presided at the piano during the evening, and Mr C. Gordon acted the part of intcilocutor : Overture and Chorus, Company : song, " Call me back again," Mr A. Wallace ; cong (comic) " Dinah said Vah,'']\[i-Einnip(t ;song, <v Face to he Remembered," Mr Ellery; song (comic), "Gi\e them lots of mom/ Mr J. Gohl^worlhy ; song, " Give my Love to all at Home,*' Mr C Gordon; song (comic), "Carry," Mr EmHt ; song, " Ki«s me Goo 1-hye P.uling,'" Mr C. McLivtr. The Chair business «as then brought to a close by the Grand Loc.il Fiinle. Part 2: — Piano«olo, MrsMenzios; Sailor's hornpipe, Messrs Smith ami Hill : song. "When the Tide comes in," Mrs Darby ; song (comic), " J)uckfcot Sue,'* Master IT. Tonure ; song, " The Bridirc." Miss Y. Pavitt ; song, "Silver Cup," Mr C. McLiver ; song/ Break-, Break," Miss llartly ; specialities, comic scng and dance, Mr Jas. McLiver; son^f, Miss Devey (who kindly filled the vacancy caused by the absence of Mr W. F. Hunt) ; dance, hiirhland fling, Messrs Hill and Smith. The piocrramme wns brought to a close by the simrincr of the National Ant hem, after which Mrll.McLivcr came foiward and retur ied thanks on behalf of ]\lr Hadfudd to aM who had so kindly and heaitily assisted in making the affair such a success. r l'lie dancing by Messrs Smith and Hill was loudly and deserved applauded, nl*o specialities by Mr J. McLiver, whilst encores were demanded iv several instances from those who sang. We are pleased to hear that as a result of this performance something like £15 will hive been raised for Mr E. Had Geld. Great credit is due to the "ommittee of management for the vciy excellent manner in which all the arrangements were carried out. The hall having been cleared, dancing was kept up with much spirit till early morning.
