An adjourned meeting of the Oliinomuri Liconsing Committee was hold at the : Courthouse, P.icroa, on Friday lnsl, iO decide as to the applications for now publican's licenses by Messrs Alley,( Hikutaia) andllosie(Owharoa), After a great deal of discu^ion, in which it, was shown that Mr Alley had no premises in existence for the proposed license, and the precedent created l>y Judge Ward ie the Jubilee Hotel, Ncwmaiket, was carried out, i.»., that a license could not be granted to piemises that did not exist. The license was accordingly refused. Mr llosie's application for a hotel I license at Uwharoa was again adjourned until June 30th. This was done in order to allow applicant to give- the requisite notice. ! The gossip here is all concerning the | wonderful cure made by Madame Duflot !in Auckland on Mr James Grayden of Waitckauri.
