THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. RESTORATION OF THE JEWS.

Auckland, June 21. Tiilki: was another very large audience at the V.M.C.A. Lecture Hall last even ing, when Pastor Muller delivered his second lecture on "The Second Coming of Christ," dealing particularly with the "Restoration of the Jews." He read fiom Timothy, chapter ii., v. 3, that •'Perilous times would come in the last days," and explained that the last days of the present dispensation were here referred to. This was written of the professed disciples of Christ, and to that state they were hastening on at present. The fourth event that would attend the second coming of Christ was the restoration of the Jews. The Jews would go back to their own country in an unconverted state, and the Temple would be rebuilt, but they would again sink into a wretched state. While in this desolation they would see the enormity oi their sin in crucifying Christ, repent, and become the holiest nation, and carry the good tidings to the world. He had found Israelites all over the world, but this despised 1 ace would become the mightiest and holiest nation in the world, and Palestine would become the most flourishing of lands. In explanation of Scriptural passages, Pastor Muller said that the nations would gather them seve& against Israel round about Jerusalem, when the -lews were in their greatest trouble. The nations would seek to rob^ the Itiaelites of their great wealth, but the Lord would defend Jerusalem and destroy the nations. Then would come the repentance and restoration of the Israelites, and the second coming of Christ. This second scorning would be on a particular day, a kind of gloomy day, neither dark nor light, but on a particular day known to the Lord. Pastor Muller concluded hi.s address by stating that as he could not conclude his lecture this evening he would give a fourth lecture on Friday night.
