THE HANLAN TRICKETT MATCH.
A telegram from Rock Hampton to the .Sydney " Telegraph " says : " Hanlan was interviewed to-day. He thinks himself faster than ever, and is strong and hearty, but has not thoroughly recovered from a cold. He believes that Trickett cannot live with him the first mile, which should be done in smin. lOsec. or smin. 15sec., and the whole course, 3^ miles, in 19Vmin. He thinks that Trickett is better now than the second time he met him on the Thames, but not so good as the first time. Trickett, when interviewed, declared that" he was never fitter— far fitter than when he met Hanlan at any time before. He desires his Sydney friends to know that he feels confident he has a good chance of winning. Hanlan has not yet decided whether to row in the Millie or in hife new boat. Betting is getting more even, Trickett coming up very fast. The town is filling with people and the Aveather is beautiful.
