THAMES PUMPING QUESTION MEETING OF THE DRAINAGE BOARD.

Auckland, June 12. A MLfc/riM. ot the Thames Drainage Board vaa hold at the oflicc of Ivir D. C>. MacOounell yesterday afternoon. Present, j\ losers J. M. Lennox, Jas. Frafcer, S. Turtle, T. iMouin, R. Spratt, R. Coiner, J. McGowan and A Brodie. The usual business was transacted and Air Spratt resolution to the cftect that Govern ment be requested to secure the allocation of the gold dug within the drainage area of the Big Pump for tho maintenance of the pump. The resolution was opposed by tho Thames local bodies representatives, and by Mr Movrin on the ground that the gold dug should be the property of the local bodies for the maintenance of roads. The motion was, however, carried by a majority of five votes to three, and the Secretary was instructed to communicate the Board's decision to the Government.
