CABLEGRAMS. NEW ZEALAND LOAN OF TWO MILLIONS.— SUBSCRIBED FOUR-FOLD.
LONDON, June 7. Tenders for the New Zealand loan of two millions sterling at 4 per ceni were opened to-day. Six hundred tenders were received, and the total amount tendered was £7,900,000. The average price offered is £97 15s ; and tenders at 97 13s will bo allotted 70 per cent of the entire loan. The minimum of loan was fixed at £96 10s. The official report of floating tho loan states that the total amount tendered was £8,024,300, while average of loan is £97 153 6d. RITUALISM AT ST PAUL'S. It is probable that proceedings will phortly be taken against the Dean and Chapter of St Paul's Cathedral, London, to compel the removal of the reredos, recently erectod therein at a costLlO,ooo, on the ground that it is idolatrous. SYDNEY, Yesterday. The Premier hag announced in the Legislative Assembly that he proposes to r-otnmit Parliament to a scheme of railway extension of about 1800 miles, the total cost being estimated at LI, 100,000. PRESIDENCY OF AMERICA.
