WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
Ture usual monthly meeting of the Waitoa Road Bonn! was held at Morrinsville on last Saturday ; the following being present :— Messrs Chepmcll (chfiirman), Burnett and Ilorrell. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed ; after which correspondence was next dealt with. Engineers Report :— Mr F. Pavitt, Engineer to the Board, reported that the clearing of about one hundred chains of drain and ti-trce on the Te Kawana road bad been completed ; that fifty five chains of road had toon naade through road on Bells to the finger post ; and
Mint the miking of eighteen chains of road from lMls, leading to Morrinsvillt? was also nearly finished ; that the repairs had been carried out on the road leading from Wai toa railway station toTe Kahia; that the gravelling of roads in ami adjVenl to Morrinsvillo, the rep/iirinq: nF roa.l known us Jenkins ; and also the repairs to the main road near -Jon kins', were nearly finished, etc., etc. Road Works : — The Engineer wsm instructed to get a number of small jobs in various parts of the district carried out. Tenders : — The followinjjtenders were opened for road contracts near Te Aroha, forming: and gravelling 1 about fiftean chains of tho main road, to Waihon, near (he Cemetery road : W. Hcthrmgton, £24- 9* ; J\ Dillon, £23 18«?; 0. C Dwrill. XI!) 10s ; J. Shine, £17 10s ; M. O'Doiioghue, £1G; "JJMcUeviW, £15; Jas. Parr, (accepted) £18 10s. Accounts: — Accounts amounting to £5(1 3s 5d were passed for payment.
