The teef in the drive is composed of kindlylooking quartz, but no gold has been observed lately. Theie aro about 401bs of picked stone and 10 loads of quartz on hand. Ni.w I<Y. \kmh;<;ht,— Opciations in this mine, which h situated in the Waiotahi Creek, have been lesumed with a &mall stafl of men, who aie employed in driving upon a pro-nising leader. A few nice picked atones weic obtained a day or two Hgofiom a .->tiinger going off into one of the Malls. The country is a favourable sandstone. lammua.-- The quartz coming to hand from the main reef in the ribe over No. 3 le\el contains splendid minerals, although, stiange to hay, no has been seen. (»ood headway continues to be made with the crosscut at No 4 le\el to meet the win/o on the main lode.
