RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, TE AROHA. TUESDAY APRIL 10th. (Before Messrs J. A. Dobson and J. Ilott, J.'sP.)
Police v. Annie. Thomson. Sergeant. Emerson charged Annie Thomson, proprietress of the Family Hotel, Rolleston street, Te Arohn, with keep ing licensed premises open on March 28th, during the time at which licensed premises are directed to he closed. There was no appearance of defendant, who, however, wired from Auckland, requesting that the case be adjourned as she whs unable to appear. Sergeant Emerson stated he served the summons on defendant prior to her leaving for Auckland; she knew she should be present. Adjourned till 10 a.m., April '24th. John' Brumby v. E. W. Hanmer, claim £12 15s, for wages. Prfendant, disputed tin claim and i asked for nn adjournment till next Court day, 24(1) inst., and had lodged the neccssHry amount to cover costs in connection therewith. Adjourned accordingly.
