Afc Longhrca, Mr OBrien, M.P., attempted to address a meeting but the assemblage was dispersed, thirty persons being injured. Dv Tanner, M.l\, who succeeded in eluding the vigilance of the police addressed a meeting outside Macroom at six in the- evening, but the crowd upon entering the town were charged and dispersed. fn many parts of Clare and Cork conflicts occofed ; many injnries being sustained on both sides ; quiet, however was restored by evening.
