Auckland, April 5. Tiik Hon. George Fisher, Minister of Education, arrived in Onehunga afc 7 a.nv to-rlay from New Plymouth by the s.s Wanaka. Ho is accompanied by his piivate secretary, Mr Amelius Smith. Mr Fisher came on to town, and shortly after his arrival was interviewed by the member for Newton, Mr E. Withy, who wished him to visit the Costly Training Intitule, at Suriey Hills. This Mr Fisher con.>ented to do, and in accoi dance with airangements made he proceeded in a cab with Mr Withy at 2 p.m. to visit the Institution. It is Mr Fisher's, intention to remain a tew days in Auckland, during which time he hopes to bo enabled to vwt the vai ious city schools. It is aKo moie than probable that he will ui'ike a tiip up the country. If time permitted the lion. Minister of Education would al.so wi.sh to visit some of the village settlements, as he recognises that the question of pioviding school accommodation m the scattcicd di fciicts is a serious one, involving considerable evpense to the {Education Depaitment. Mr Fisher hopes (o have a little rest tor at least a day or two in Auckland.
