Aterrible fciag-edy occurred in Gfey-sfcvGet. South Brisbane, this afternoon. A young .man named Harding >Vhite, of White and 'White, donti&ts, t-hot his wife through the neck, and then shot himself dead through the temple. White was n tine looking man, about 32, but had been drinking for the past few weeks. Ho threatened »overal times to kill his wife, and always kept a revolver. He quarrelled with his wife to-day, and gave her a black eye. JSho determined to go to Sydney, and sent her husband's office boy to the laundry for her clothes. When the boy returned, a quarter of an hour later, lie found White lying in a back room bleeding from the temple, with the revolver by his side. His w iro rushed into a neighbour's after t»he wad shot through the neck, and said her husband had shot her, and then .shot himself. Dr. C. Kebble was called in, and, being unable to probe the wound, sent her to the hospital, where she now lies in a precaiious condition. The rs'volver wasMX-chambered. Five chambers liad been loaded, two of which were discharged. Decea&ed was cruel to his wife, being often half demented through drink. The "woman was temperate. White must have died instantly, as the bullet entered the right temple, passed tluough his> brain. ■and came out a little above toe left temple. The right temple was blackened with powder.
