AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL AT TE AROHA. THE BATTERY CO.'S PROPERTY SOLD.
As we intimated yesterday, Mr Wilson, of Broken Hill, offered, the proprietor of the Battery Co., Te Aroha, 1*25,000 for fourtifths of the Company's mines and batlery, which offer was declined. Negotiations were then apparently broken oil, but were renewed this morning, when an offer to sell the property for -C 30,000 was made. This was declined by Mr Wilson, who was about to proceed to Australia by the steamer. A nhorb time before the advertised time of departure of the vessel, however, an agreement for the disposal of the Company's interests was arrived at, and a memorandum of agree* ment signed right off. Under thiß the Company is to receive €25,000 cash for four-tiftbs of their property, the remaining one-fifth to be retained by the Company and to be represented by fully paid up shares in any company that may be formed by the purchaser. In addition to this Mr Wilson pays -C 4,000 for the Silver Kincf mine which adjoins the Battery Company's property. — Auckland Star.
