PROPOSAL TO WORK THAMES DEEP LEVELS.
March 17. It is reported here that several gentlemen have under consideration a scheme which* if carried out, will prove of considerable importance to this goldfield. It is stated that they purpose endeavouring to acquire all the ground below the 640 feeb level with a view to introducing English capital to sink a big pump shal'q. 1,000 or 2,000 foeb deep, and then driving to get underneath where rich patches of gold have been obtained on the surface. It is probable the matter will come before the Companies interested in the course of a> few days. Cambria.— The main reef in the wmze. being sunk below No. 3 level has been broken down. The quartz carries excellent mineiale, and colours of gold wero observed. Trenton.— Crushing of 29 loada of quartz was finished at the Prince Imperial battery yesterday afternoon for lQozs lOdwta of melted cold.
