THE DEAD KAISER. THE FUNERAL OBSEQUIES.
London, March 16. A memorial service, out of respect to the Kaiser Wilhelm, is to be held in the chapel at Windsor Castle, at which Her Majesty the Queen will be present. The British fleet and the several garrisons will fire a funeral salute of 91 guns to-day.
Berlin, March 15. An enormous concourse of people have visited the cathredal to see the remains of the Emperor William. Near the bier is piled a mountain of wreaths which have been brought by all classes of the community. So great has beeu the crush of people anxious to get into the building, that the police have been quite unable to control them, and some disorderly scenes have been enacted at the entrance to the sacred edifice. In accordance with the expressed wish of Emperor Frederick 111., the Royal visitors visited Augusta, the Queen of Prussia, before paying their respects to himself. Subsequently the Dowager visited her speechless son, and folded him in mute embrace. The programme for the late Emperor Wilhelm's funeral provides for Emperor Frederick 111. following, but it is believed that his physicians will forbid him doing so. The Emperor has addressed a message to the Diet, promising to observe the Constitution. The ceremony of administering the oath has been postponed until His Majesty's health has improved.
Sydney, March 17. Further tokens of mourning for the late Emperor were exhibited yesterday in all the Australian capitals.
Wellington, Saturday. On Friday the Kaiwarra Battery, commencing at noon, fired 91 minute guns as a tribute to the late Emperor of Germany, a gun being fired for each year of his age.
