THE MURDERER PILAR.

Repokts h-oni Silver City, New Mexico, give the information that the Mexican boy who was cruelly shot by the notorious murderer and horse thief Pilar has died of his wounds. Pilar was the leader of a gang of bandits who were committing' all kinds ot depredations, stealing hur&os, cattle, etc., and terrorising the people. The gang abducted the sister of the Mexican boy, and the brother in endeavouring to recapture her was shpt by Filar. Deputy Bhcrifi % Hall, who was out in the count ly on business, was returning, and the samo day came vtp with the bandits. He evidently attempted to capture them, and was phot and killed, his body being found pierced with several bullets the next day. This stirred up the avenging spirit of the people, and several posses of citizens started to hunt down the perpetrator?. The gang escaped to the mountains, making their way to old Mexico. Pilar, however, returned a short while aftei wards, and was apprehended in another part of the Territory, and given over to the Silver City officials. He is now in gaol there to answer for the two murdeis. ETe has made a record for himself aa a "killer," and now stands a good chance of ornamenting the gallows.
