DROWNED.
CHRibTCiiORCH, March 16. This afternoon two boys named Hemor and Brown went out sailing in Akaroa Harbour aboufc half-past 3. Heavy wind came on, capsizing their boat. Brown held to the boat, and was saved by Maoris who saw the accident from Onnku. Hemer attempted to swim ashore and was drowned. Several boats went out in search for the body, bub it has not been recovered, a maori drownei at hitntly A Maori man named Inoka (Enoch) .was drowned in tho Waikato River at Huntly on the night of the 10th inst. He was an elderly man, aged 65, and had been over to the township from tho settlement on the other side of the river to buy stores. The wind was strong that night, and there is little doubb that the email canoe in which Inoka crossed was capsized. He was seen to enter the canoe, aud was never seen afterwards. The canoe was subsequently picked up, bub the body has. nob yet Been, found.
