DEATH OF MR BROWNING.
Auckland, March 17. It is with extreme regret that wo record the death of Mr Robert Browning, solicitor, which took place at his residence in Arney Road at a quarter to six o'clock thi a morning. The deceased gentleman has been suffering from typhoid fever of an virulent type for the last seven weeks, and has been under the medical care of Drs Girdler and Lewis. Tb was believed a fortnight ago that he had pulled through safely, bub he suffered several relapses, and the disease eventually had a fatal termination. The deceased was a son of Mr S. Browning, and was born at Sydney in 1853, so that he was 25 years of ago at the time of his death. He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School under Rev, Fr Kinder, and subsequently, when he adopted the profession of the law, was articled to Mr C. McCormick. He has been in business on his own account for the last nine yeats, and by his straightforward and honourable dealing had acquired a good practice. About two years ago, he was married to Miss Buckland, daughter of MiAlfred Buckland, and he now leaves a widow and two children. Few men in Auckland acquired such great popularity as the late .Mr Robert Brown-ing, and the news of his death will be received with the deepest regret in social and business circles alike. The funeral takes place on Monday afternoon.
