FATAL COLLIERY ACCIDENT.
Wellington, March \d. Thk Minister of Minos has received a telegram from Clyde, stating that James Streebham, aged 27, was suffocated in a coal mine belonging to Mr Buckley at Blackman at 9 o'clock on Sunday morning. He had descended the shaft to ascertain the depth of water, and after being below a few minutes was being hauled up by his brother when he fell out of the bucket. He made a second attempt to ascend but again foil. The depth of the shaft is 35 feet.
