Auckland, March 12. Messrs Author anu Bundle's Wkkk.lt JUjspoiit. — A quiet week in all departments except fruit and produce. The supply of prodnco generally has been quite equal to the demand, and prices show but little alteration. Potatoes aredifh'cull to move off at from £2 to £2 10s. Onions have not coaic forward in any quantity during the week, bub prices remain low. Bacon and hams have sold freely ; a largo quantity of Southern has been placed at slightly better pi ices than last week, and Friday's sale lefb u-* with but little on hand. Cheese has been well supplied, and nearly all sold at about the same prices as last week. Fresh butter is in demand at a shade hotter prices ; very little salt has come forwaid, and none iirsc-class. Fruit has shown no fnlling-ofF in quantity, and prices for all soft kinds have kept up well where consignments have arrived in good condition ; buu a considerable quantity has reached us over-ripe, and prices have suffered accordingly. The supply of apples ha& increased, and a slightly lower price has to bo taken. Oar three sales during theweekhave been all well attended. Poultry has been entered in fair numbers, and all of good quality sold well. Pigs met with a ready sale at fair values. Friday's market sale was very largely attended throughout. MR ALEXANDER AITKENS WEEKLY ReI'ORT. — Business for the past week brisk; both sales were well attended, and a large business done. The supply of all sorts has been large, and all cleared, except inferior butter and cheese, which are hard to quit. Potatoes have moved off' well at low rates ; about 70 tons have been placed as follows : Shipping lines, £2 to £2 2s 6d ; ex store, £2 5s to £2 LOs. There is still a very large quantity to corao forward, and no chance of a rise in price. Poultry : A lai'go supply, prices high. Fruit : Largo supply, mostly of tirst-class quality. Trices considerably above those of the previous week. Most of the fresh and salt butter to hand was only second-class, and was hard to quit. The following are the highest and lowest prices obtained :— Fowls, inferior, lOd tola ; in fair condition, Is 3d to Is 6d ; good table fowls, Is 8d to 2s 4d each ; youngroosters, Is ad to 2s 3d ; pullets, Is 7d to 2s ; chicks, 8d to Is 3d ; ducks, Is 9d to 2a 5d ; geese, none ; turkeys, none to hand, in demand. Pigs : Small supply, 4s 3d to 8a 6d. Potatoes, 2s to 2s 6d ; onions, §d to Id ; cabbages, 8d to Is 9d ; carrots, 2a to 2s 9d ; marrows, Is per dozen ; cucumbers, 4d.- Fruit : Cooking apples of good quality, Id to l^d : interior, .\d to 't'd ; dessort, l}d to l^d. London, March, 8. New Zealand butter by the s.s. Kaikoura is realising from 60s to 100s per cwb ; and cheese, 45s to 56s per cwt.
