DOMAIN BOARD.
Thk oidinarv monthly meeting of the T© /Molki Domain Boaid was held on Saturday last, at 8 p.m. Pivsent — Messts G.uin (chairman), Wilson, Tlott, and Ahier. Minutes of the meeting held on Feb. 4th, same meeting, adjoin ned, and also special mectingjicldon Feb. 18th, woie lo.id andconliimed. Coitps pondence: — Fiom the Government auditor, acknowledging- leceipt of annual balance-sheet, for % ev.t endins: Dec 31st, 1887, and requesting that certain vouchers for some small items be forwarded. It would appear the receipts from the baths, for the year 1887. amounted to £602 19s ; as against £53!) 10s for 1686. In his letter the auditor drew attention to the fact that some £37 was charged under the heading of clerk and clerical assistance for the past year, and expressed the opinion that it was excessive, as he noticed the aocounts were all in the handwriting of the honorary secretary ; »nd further staling that the amount paid to the secretary of the Cambridge and Hamilton Boaids weie only some £20 per annum. Receipts and Expenditure : — Mr Ahier read the following- statement re receipts and expenditure. Receipts for 4 weeks ending Mai eh 3id : To balance nt Bank, Feb. 4 Hi, £99 7s 8d ; receipts from baths, £57 ; total, £156 7s Bd. Expenditure ; Wagps passed Feb. 4th and 18th, and sundry small accounts, £39 16s ; leaving balance in Bank at present dato of £117 6s 2d. Accounts : The following accounts were passed for payment — D. J. Frazer, (ironmongery), £2 Ils2d; T. Hood,(painting), 12s ; C. Ahier, (timber"*. 16s 7d ; J. Fmrell (clerk), £1 10s ; J- McKee (care taker), £5 ; J. Stanley (assistant). £4 10s ; John Currie (carpenter 2£ days), £1 5s ; total, £17 4s 9d. The Overflow : — A statement was furnished by the To Aroha Mineral Water Co., Limited, for water taken away for bottling purposes as follows : — Nov. 21st, 1887, to Feb. 29th, 1888, 18 hogsheads, of 54 gallons each, @ Id per gallon, £4 Is. Jt was stated this covered the whole amount for water used by the Company since the granting of the lease to them. The Chairman : There was an agreement made with Robson and (Jo., when they first proposed to form a large company and requested that the lease, approved by the Board in 1885, (under which they were to have the first year's water free, second year at Id per gallon, 3rd and 4th year 2d, sth year 3d), should be set aside, and a lease for ten years at Id per gallon substituted, that, if this concession were acceded to, their undertook to pay for all the water used by them at the rate of Id per gallon, prior to the business being taken over by the new company. After some further dis cussion it was agreed the matter should be enquired into. Works : Mr Wilson reported that the platform far the Brass Band was nearly completed, and that sundry other works> had been carried ont. Mr Wilson was authorised to employ labour for the inipiovemerit oC footpaths, etc., etc. Che Chairman and, Mr Uott were appointed u committee to report on the best
means of dealing with a drain near the Board's oflice, respecting which complaints hud been made.
