SUICIDE OF A THEATRICAL AGENT.
Melbourne, February 14. ' J. W. Dodge, the well-known theatrical agent, committed suicide lust night at Stvtt's JHtotel, Bourke-street, where he had been staying". Deceased had been suffering for Home time from consumption, and in any case was not likely to live beyond another, -week or 10 days. His wife, Miss ITlora Anste^d, (the welj-knovvn- actress, ■was gent for, and Temafned with her husband till death. > It transpired at the inquest thai it was ,afc- first, thought he had broken a'blood-vessei ; and even Dr. Ncild, ■who was sent for, "fell into this error. The truth; was ndt discovered until the wound ■was observed in the chest, and the revolver was fpund- under the mattress.
