Genteel Robbery.

Young women sometimes do queer things, but; seldom doee one venture on such a remarkably bold line of action a8 one young person did in this city while at a dinner party not many months ago. During a lull in the conversation shequietly remarked to the young gentleman who took her to the dinner : "Let me see your pocket-book." Not knowing what to make of such a peculiar request, the young man quietly produced his pocket book and handed it to her. She took it, calmly opened it, and took out a roll of bills amounting to $200, all the money it contained. Then saying to her victim, " I will buy me a ring to-morrow," she as calmly handed back the empty leather case to him and put the money in her own pocket. The man preferred to lose the money rather than to press his claim for it upon her relatives, and submitted to what was simply a piece of barefaced robbery. — " Washington Capital."
