OHINEMURT.
(FROM OUR OWN CORREBPOHDWNT.) Paeroa, Friday. A MKETiyG of the committee of the Ohinelnnri Jockey Club will be held tv-morrow, for the purpose of organising a race meeting which will take place either on the 17th of March next, which falls on a Saturday, or else on the fallowing Monday. ftlatters in connection with the ('ovelopment of the Waihi Gold Mining Company which wa<* floated in Lodon recently with a working capital of £30,000, are already beginning to assume a tangible shape. This week Mr Sejmour Thorn George, acting on behalf of the company, gave an order to the proprietors of |the Junction saw mills for 25,000 feet of timber, which I believe is to be used in the construction of a water race, and a contract has been let for the conveyance of this material to its destination. It is expected that Mr J. W Walker who is now en route from England will reach hero early next month, and as it was mainly through his exertions that the Waihi Gold Mining Company was fiuccessful'y floated in London, it is nothing but right thai Home effort should be made to give him a fitting reception on his arrival in this district.
