A, Graham (chairman) Scddon, Primrose, McDonald, B idler, Hatty, Brunekill, Chepmell and Hunter. Rateable V a luo of the Counties.— Letters were received from the eleiks of the Waipa, Waikato and Piako Counties giving their rateable values for the pr<<«mt year as follows : Waipa County, £G2G,BSI ; Waikato, £60)4,996; Piako, £1)31.830. The return from t)io Raglan County and the Boroughs of Hamilton and Cambridge Lave not been foi warded yet. Report of Selcvt Committee.— Tho report of the Select Committee appointed by the Board todiaw up estimates of expenditure and requirements for the year ending 31st March, 18S0, vris read as follows :— " Tho committee have to report that in pursuance of resolution passed at tho last meeting of the Board, they duly mot, and after a lengthened dieeuss>on and "esueful consideration of the past year's tianPiiv't.ons, they unanimously greedthat the sum required for the coming year would be loss than £1330. £2165 of which will bo the amount ro bo allocated by the Board for contributions from contributing local authorities, and £2105 be reeeivablefrom the Govevnnmem as \no\ided for by the Act. Included in these estimates is the establishment; of the present Hcpiial £800, which is at present costing the Board at the rate of neaily 12 per eont. interest or rent and also a sum of £500 to provide for adiii- ■ tions and further accommodation which it is J imperative tho Board should supply as the present building is too limited for geneial requirements. Is is only fitted to accommodate 12 adults including the nursing staff, whereas at one time theie weie in all 16 inmates, and other Hospital ca^es seeking admission had to be refused foi lack of rooms. The committee therefore consider it necessary to calealate for an average of fifteen patients for the coming year, and it is upon this basis $hat they haTe formed their estimates.
