Preaching in public Places.

Further action by the harbour trustees* against persons preaching on Sundays upon - the Queen's Wharf resulted to-day in Joseph Symes, free-thought lecturer, being fined five guineas with costs. The tine was made thus large at Symes's request, to give him leave to appeal. Anothor man named Fleming was fined two guineas and costs. An offender named Webb was fined 10s, but as he would not pay, the charge was withdrawn, the prosecution not wishing to send him to gaol.
