GOLDFIELDS EXPENDITURE. (BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT. ) Wellington, January 10.

In the course of a conversation with the Minister of Mines on Saturday, he informed me that he considers the Northern gold fields have not received their fair share of public expenditure in past years, and; that it is his intention to do what he- can to remedy the injustice. The West Coast gbldfields have, in his opinion, been better treated than any other part of the colony, and he is uowcurbailing expenditure 1 there as much as possible, so that more money may be spent in the Auckland district.
