A STEAMER SPECIALLY CHARTERED.

The s.s, Fifeshire, a new ship built at Wallseud, near Newcastle-on-Tyne, for Messrs Turnbull, Martin and Co., of Glasgow, has arrived from London at Hobart, this being her first voyage. She is a capacious ship of 3,070 tons burthen, and expressly designed for the frozen meat trade. She is capable of cairying 35,000 carcases, and is specially chartered for the conveyance of a cargo of meat from Oamaru, New Zealand. The passage out occupied 52 days, owing to a slight mishap which occurred to the machinery. She brings about 80 passengers, most of them for Melbourne and Sydney ports, and 600 tons of cargo for this port.
