Several miners have visited the scene of the " find "' icporfcod a few days ago by Messrs Wright and Bedford, bub express grave doubts as to its permanence. It is true that the pio^pectors obtain really good <iish prospect*, but those competent to ?orm <.m o[>inion say that it is altogether unlikely that the gold will carry downwards. It will doubtless bo recollected that none of the discoveries made in this neighbourhood have ever resulted in anything of importance, the deposit being of an alluvial nature vi every instance.
