STEPS TAKEN FOR MR HUTCHISON'S EJECTMENT. (BY TELEGRAPH— OWN REPORTER.) Wellington, this day.
The day before Parliament was formally opened by Commission (the sth inst. ) I informed you that ib was Mr Bryce's intention to move to have his opponent in the Waitotara election unseated, on the grounds of personation and bribery. It was further stated that strong evidence was likely to be forthcoming in the petitioner's favour. The report some days later received an emphatic and apparently authoritative contradiction from Wanganui. It transpires that Mr Bryco has now moved in the direction indicated. My information was disclosed prematurely, and the matter has been merely hung up till the late member was satisfied that his evidence was sufficient to enable him to have the election declared void.
