Edward Hanlan, ex-champion sculler of t3-e world, arrived in Sydney by the X.M.S. Zealandia on the 22nd insb. Hanlan did not look well ; he losb nearly a stone in weight during the voyage from San Fran-p-2'sco to Australia. Tlie Canadian was ma on the wharf by two friends, and after ai> interchange of greetings, he drove to Petty 's Hotel, where he is at present residing. He will exercise on the Parnunatta 81/cr* shortly. George Brett u ill train him for his match on the Nepcan River with Beach, the champion oarsman of the vroiJd.
