Fears of Trouble Over the Succession. London, August 5.
It is feared that serious trouble will result from tlie succession to William 111., Kingof Holland, whois now old and seriously ill with bladder trouble. Ho recently visited Carlsbad for a treatment off the waters, but received no benefit whatever. He is now 71 years old, aod cannot livse much longer. He is the last ©f the male descendants of the House of Orange. Following his death, if there is no oufcside interference, Holland will be governed by a council of Regents. It is now said that Bismarck will interfere and will push to the front the heir to the Luxembourg throae, the Grasad Duke of Nassau, one of the German Princes doposed by Prussia in the year 1866, and one of the few sovereigns w!bo afterward became reconciled to their conqueror. ,He married List year a grand -daughter of Emperor William. The German authorities have for some time been building forts aiong the Holland frontier. There are now 50,000 German soldiers so dispersed that they can bo moved into Holland on a few hours' notice.
