Sin, — I have received a letter from my father by the 'Frisco mail in which he states thftt ovring to at rangementa not being quite completed he was unable to come by the Tongariro, but hoped he would not.be detained very long. He will therefore arrive too late for the elections. I have to thank those who so kindly promised him their assistance and support in the event of his being a candidate for the present election.
