All Embarrassing Situation.
At Aklershot during the recent xeview the Prince of Wales had dismounted from his horse and was aw aiting the coming of his royal mother when hi dclenly he discovered a lady in a superlatively tire £>own. who in the confusion of the caniages could not L.\d her way to the grand .stand. With giandiose courtesy the Prince extricated the lady from the labyrinth, and on parting asked if he might be allowed to know her name. "Certainly, your highness," replied the lady, with a suave smile. "I am Mine. De Kalemine ; you doubtless heaid me spoken of at the time I married your brother-in-law, the Grand Duke of Hesse- Darmstadt." Ab this unfortunate moment the Queen drove up and relieved the Prince of his embarrassment. It will be remembered that the marriage between the Grand Duke and Mme. Kalemine was annulled, chiefly at the instance of Queen Victoria, who did not like this successor lo her favourite daughter, Alice.
