On Monday evening, July 17, at 7 o'clock, the charge of embezzlement ag.iinst Messrs Gibson and Hayseldcn was nolle prosequied by the Attorney-General, on the grounds that there was no evidence to detain them, A thorough examination of their books and papers failed to substantiate Ihe charges under which they were arraigned^ Police Justice Dayton thereupon discharged Messrs Gibson and Hayselden from custody, who returned to their homes.
